Respiratory Therapy

Respiratory Therapy at Ottawa County Health Center
At Ottawa County Health Center, respiratory therapists (RTs) are certified healthcare professionals who specialize in respiratory and lung care. They play a vital role in evaluating and treating patients with breathing difficulties using specialized equipment and techniques. Working alongside our physicians and nursing staff, RTs help manage conditions such as asthma, pneumonia, COPD, and other respiratory illnesses.
Our respiratory therapists monitor heart rate, check oxygen levels in the blood, assess lung function, and provide treatments such as oxygen therapy and breathing exercises. They interpret test results, tailor care plans to meet each patient’s unique needs, and support recovery through close monitoring and patient education.
Beyond lung function, RTs also assess blood flow and blood pressure to ensure oxygen is effectively delivered throughout the body. Their expertise is essential in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including emergency and critical care. At Ottawa County Health Center, our respiratory therapy team is committed to helping patients breathe easier and improve their overall health and quality of life.
